Glastonbury has a wonderful choice of cafes and a good choice of pubs but when it comes to restaurants the choice is smaller.
For this article I looked at over 7000 reviews online (October 2024) to see which restaurant has the best ratings overall and the winner is…….
The Queen of Cups is a 17th century coaching inn, turned modern Middle Eastern restaurant with skilfully and uniquely curated sharing plates created by the talented Executive Chef and founder Ayesha Kalaji. Since its launch in 2021 the restaurant has won the following awards:
- 2022 – Be Inclusive Hospitality (BIH) announced the winners for its inaugural Spotlight Awards which included Queen of Cups for Middle Eastern Food.
- 2023 – Michelin announced that 20 restaurants had been newly awarded a Bib Gourmand in the MICHELIN Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2023 including Queen of Cups. Named after Bibendum – the official name of the Michelin Man – the Bib Gourmand distinction highlights restaurants offering great quality, great value cooking.
- 2024 – named the Best Trencherman’s Newcomer at the Trencherman’s Awards.
- 2024 – Ayesha Kalaji, who runs the Queen of Cups made the list for Breakthrough Talent at the CODE Hospitality’s Women of the Year awards 2024
