Whether it is a stroll up and down High Street, or an all day hike, there is something for everyone.<\/p>\n<p>There is something for everyone in this article in which I look at short documented walks taking you around the town and its key features.<\/p>\n<p>Glastonbury town trails published by various organisations have been around for many years; each one is usually a variant of an earlier version! If you want a short walk around the town centre here are some trails that may whet your appetite:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Glastonbury Abbey Meditation &amp; Prayer Walk<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Spiritual journey around the grounds of Glastonbury Abbey [FREE but requires entry to Glastonbury Abbey\u00a3].<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Download and print the walk for free <a href=\"https:\/\/www.glastonburyabbey.com\/information\/downloads.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Glastonbury Heritage Ash Trail<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">One for tree lovers [FREE].<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">The Ash tree is in danger of extinction in Europe but Glastonbury is home to some mighty Ash trees. Along the lanes and in the hedgerows of Stonedown Hill reside some of the largest &#8211; ranging from towering maiden trees laden with veteran features, to gnarled and stunted old working pollards with upwards of 4m girth. This circular walking trail visits 20 notable and veteran Ash trees. Produced by former mayor John Brunsdon, The Glastonbury Trail is approximately four hours of easy walking to see all the main attractions including optional detours of Glastonbury Abbey 1 hour, Wearyall Hill \u00bd hour, Glastonbury Tor 1 hour and Chalice Well 1 hour.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Full details of The Glastonbury Trail including a map are contained in the Glastonbury and Street Visitors Guide available from the Glastonbury Information Centre.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Glastonbury Treasure Hunt Trail<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">One for the family and pirates [\u00a3].<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Self-guided treasure hunt themed trail. As you follow the trail route you try to solve clues set on existing buildings, permanent features and monuments to discover the location of the buried treasure. This circular trail takes in all the historical points of interest in the town and climbs the Tor. The trail is approximately 4.4 km long and takes 2 \u00bd hours to complete.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">The trail booklet can be purchased online and can\u00a0be received by post or downloaded from the Treasure Trails website\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.treasuretrails.co.uk\/things-to-do\/somerset\/glastonbury\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Glastonbury Mural Trail<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">One for artists [FREE].<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">50 years after the first mural appeared in Glastonbury, the Glastonbury Mural Trail was launched in 2019<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Creative types will love the Glastonbury Mural Trail which is a Town Council and Chamber of Commerce and Tourism initiative to keep Glastonbury colourful.
